Friday morning we arrived to rain at the track. The track and surrounding area was so muddy that the track crew would not even let us back to the track. So we retired to the hotel and got some rest after the 11-hour drive. Saturday morning, the sun was out and the track was drying out.
PRACTICE
They decided to run one round of controlled practice but I decided to sit it out as the track was still very muddy. I could tell the track would dry out nicely for qualifying so we decided not to run the practice; the cars where coming off the track very muddy.
QUALIFYING
In the first round of qualifying I was just learning the track and flipped over on a small double. In round two I put in a good enough time to qualify 4th overall.
In round three I improved my time but so did several other people, so I ended up staying 4th overall.
FINALS
Sunday, at the start of the A main, I got my usual bad start and got turned around right at the beginning... I was last going into the first turn. I started working my way through the field and took the lead on lap 13. By the third pit stop I had lapped the field when I came into pit and ran out of fuel. My pit crew got me restarted and I came out of the pits about ten feet in front of second place. I was able to pull away after that and almost lap second place again by the end of the race.
